If you're sitting on a wobbly single-braced stool that sinks half an inch by the end of the night, the DS-840 fixes that. It's Yamaha's heavyweight round throne, with double-braced legs, a wide stance and a screw height adjustment that stays exactly where you set it.

Same height every time you sit down

The screw rod lets you fine-tune your height anywhere from about 18 to 25.6 inches, so you can match the throne to your kit and your legs instead of settling for the nearest clamp hole. Once it's set, it doesn't slip. That matters more than most people think: sit too low or too high and your kick foot and your back both pay for it over a long gig.

Solid under you

Three double-braced, wide stance legs spread the load and keep the throne from rocking when you're digging into the kick and hi-hat. The 13 inch round seat sits on a large die-cast aluminum mount, so it feels firm and steady without a lot of play.

Specifications

Model: Yamaha DS-840

Seat: Round, 330mm (about 13 inches) diameter

Seat mount: Large die-cast aluminum

Legs: 3 double-braced, wide stance

Height adjustment: Screw rod, 460 to 650mm (about 18.1 to 25.6 inches)

Charleston showroom

This throne is stocked at The Pied Piper of Charleston, 301 RHL Blvd on Corridor G.
