A first drum kit needs to fit the player, not the other way around. The ddrum D1 Junior in Black gives a young drummer a smaller acoustic setup with cymbals and a throne included, so they can start working on a steady beat, simple fills and playing along with their favorite songs.

This kit is located at The Pied Piper of Charleston in Charleston, West Virginia. In store pickup only. Contact us to confirm availability and arrange pickup.

A smaller setup for learning the drums

Reaching the pedals, snare and cymbals comfortably matters more than having the biggest kit in the room. The D1 Junior is sized for younger players, making it worth considering when a full size kit feels like too much of a stretch. Fit depends on the individual player, so checking their seated position and reach is more useful than choosing by age alone.

For those first practice sessions, keep the setup simple: set the throne height, bring the snare and cymbals within comfortable reach, and work on an even beat before adding fills. The included pedal, sticks and cymbals let a beginner start exploring how the hands and feet work together.

What is included?

• Junior sized bass drum, snare and toms
• Crash cymbal and hi hats
• Adjustable drum throne
• Bass drum pedal
• Drumsticks
