The Fuzz That Defined a Generation of Guitar Tone.

The Ram's Head Big Muff Pi is one of the most recognizable fuzz circuits ever made. The original Ram's Head version was produced by Electro-Harmonix in the early to mid 1970s and became the fuzz of choice for players who wanted massive, sustained, singing distortion with a scooped midrange character that cut through a mix in a completely different way than a standard overdrive or distortion pedal. David Gilmour used it. J Mascis built his entire sound around it. It is on more records than most players realize.

This reissue faithfully recreates that original circuit. The tone is immediately recognizable: thick, creamy sustain that holds notes forever, a scooped mid response that gives the fuzz its distinctive voice, and a top end that can go from smooth and warm to cutting and aggressive depending on where you set the Tone knob. At lower Tone settings you get that dark, woolly fuzz character. Dial it up and the high end opens up into something that sings on single note leads.

The Sustain knob controls how much fuzz and compression you are adding. Low settings give you a lighter, grittier texture. Push it up and the pedal blooms into full, sustained fuzz that holds notes as long as you want them. Volume sets your output level. Three knobs, no menu diving, no presets. You plug it in and it sounds like a Ram's Head Big Muff because it is one.
