Black body. White pickguard. Maple fingerboard. Some combinations are just timeless and this is one of them. The Squier Sonic Telecaster in Black is the kind of guitar that looks like it belongs on a stage before you even plug it in. And when you do plug it in it sounds exactly like a Telecaster should. Bright. Snappy. Cutting. The kind of tone that has been sitting in the front of mixes since the early 1950s and has not stopped working since.

The maple fingerboard is what makes this version of the Sonic Telecaster feel a little different from the laurel board models. Maple adds a snappier attack and a slightly brighter character to every note. When you dig in on a chord it pops. When you play a lead line it cuts. Players who like their notes to have presence and definition tend to gravitate toward maple and once you play it you understand why. The slim C shaped neck profile is fast and comfortable whether your hands are big or small and the thin lightweight body means you can play a three hour gig and not feel it the next morning.

The two Squier single coil pickups cover the full range of classic Tele tones. Bridge pickup is bright and punchy with that signature twang that works for country, blues, indie, and rock without breaking a sweat. Neck pickup is smoother and warmer with a roundness that works beautifully for clean tones and light overdrive. The blend position in between is where a lot of the real magic lives on a Telecaster and this one delivers it. The 6 saddle hardtail bridge gives you proper intonation across all six strings so your guitar is actually in tune up the neck. Sealed gear tuning machines hold their tuning through the whole set without fuss.

Players who come into The Pied Piper of Charleston WV and The Pied Piper of New Albany pick this one up off the wall and immediately feel why the Telecaster has never gone out of style. Come in and play it. We think you will know pretty quickly whether it is the one.

Timeless look. Classic tone. Built to be played hard. This is the Tele.
