Most acoustic-electric guitars make you choose. Either you get the full booming projection of a dreadnought or you get the comfort and upper-fret access of a smaller cutaway body, but rarely both without a trade-off somewhere. The GN93CE NAT NEX is Takamine's answer to that problem and it works better than you might expect at this price point.

The NEX body is Takamine's own shape, slightly smaller than a full dreadnought but deeper than a grand auditorium. It sits comfortably whether you are standing with a strap or seated, and the cutaway opens up the upper register in a way that players who do any soloing or melodic work will appreciate immediately. The solid spruce top brings more resonance and projection than a laminate, and it will open up and improve with time and playing. Rosewood back and sides add warmth and sustain that you do not typically find at this price.

The CT4B II preamp system is a step above the TP-4T found on the entry-level Takamines. It gives you more control over your plugged-in tone with a three-band EQ, and it sounds noticeably cleaner through a PA or amp. This is a guitar that will not embarrass you at a gig or a recording session.

If you want to get your hands on it before you decide, come into our Charleston WV store or the New Albany Ohio showroom and play it. Order online and pick it up in store if you already know what you want and we will have it ready. Affirm financing is available at checkout so you can spread out the $899 over time.

The Pied Piper has been family owned since 1967. We check every instrument before it goes out the door and have trusted service people in both Ohio and West Virginia if you need anything after the sale.
