Learning banjo is enough to get your hands around without having to piece together a bag, strap and picks before your first lesson. The Washburn B8 Americana banjo pack brings those basics together with a 5 string banjo in a Natural finish, so you can spend more time working on your playing.

If you are starting with rolls, working out a melody or adding banjo to the instruments you already play, this pack gives you an instrument and the listed accessories in one purchase. The included instructional book offers a starting point, and the gig bag gives you a way to carry the banjo to lessons or a practice session.

Getting started on banjo

For your first practice sessions, take your time getting comfortable with the picking pattern and keeping the notes even. A few minutes with a simple phrase can be more useful than rushing through a whole tune. The included pitch pipe gives you a tuning reference. If you would rather use an electronic tuner, ask us about one that suits your setup.

Buying for someone else? Make sure they want a 5 string banjo rather than a different banjo format. Tell us what music they want to play and whether they already play another instrument, and we can help you work through the choice.
