If you want humbucker weight for a driven rhythm part but something clearer for the next verse, the Washburn R5CB Raven gives you both without switching guitars. Its two humbuckers deliver the fuller side of the sound, while a push pull coil split opens up a brighter, leaner voice for cleaner chords and picked lines.

The Raven brings back the double cutaway shape associated with Washburn's 1970s instruments. This Wing Series model pairs that outline with a swamp ash body, maple fingerboard and Cherry Sunburst finish. The body wood brings a bright tonal character, while the cutaways leave room to reach higher on the neck.

Two pickup voices to work with

Start with the humbuckers when you want body behind a riff or lead. When an arrangement needs more space, try the coil split for extra chime and definition. It is a useful option for players who move between clean accompaniment and overdriven parts during the same set.

The pickups are voiced with the original Raven sound in mind, but this is a current Raven model, not a vintage guitar from the 1970s. If you are comparing it with an older Washburn, ask us about the details that matter to your playing rather than assuming the specifications are identical.
