If you've ever played a pedal that feels great for two songs and then starts to wander, you know why frame stability matters. The FP9500C is Yamaha's double chain single pedal, built around a sub-frame that sits right under the rocker shaft. That keeps the bearings lined up and the stroke consistent, whether you're holding down four on the floor at a wedding gig or working on heel-toe doubles in the practice room.

Set it up for your foot

Footboard angle, beater angle and spring tension all adjust on their own, and the spring tension has a self-lock so your setting doesn't creep during a set. The spring roller has built-in bearings, tie rods on the base frame keep the pedal planted, and the beater shaft locker holds the beater exactly where you put it. The hoop clamp is simple and quick, so setup and teardown don't eat into your load-in time.

Chain now, belt later if you want

It comes set up as a double chain drive for the direct, punchy response most drummers want under the foot. If you like the lighter, faster feel of a belt, the FP9500C can be converted to belt drive. The 2-way beater gives you a felt side for a round, warm kick and a hard side when you need more attack to cut through a loud band.
